On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the conversion machinery room lobby between 31 and 34½ stations on 3 deck looking forward and to starboard from the port side at 34 station showing the stairs leading up to 2 deck with the open watertight hatch down to 4 deck under the stairs. On the right is another open watertight hatch leading down to 4 deck. In the starboard bulkhead is the door to the conversion machinery room with fuse panels and an emergency change over switch and connection box next to it. On the left is the Worthington-Simpson Numarine hull and fire pump with an emergency cable stowage fitted to the casing.
