On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the engine room between 49 and 57 stations on 4 deck looking aft from just to port of the centreline on the middle platform at 54 station showing the top of the port turbine casing on the right. A board holding six gauges is on the right and five of the gauges are labelled 'Turb. bearing oil inlet port aft pipe no. 45', 'Turb. bearing oil inlet port fwd. pipe no. 43', 'Gear case oil supply inboard rail', 'Gear case oil supply centre rail' and 'Gear case oil suplly outboard rail'. On the left is a board holding four gauges labelled 'Air ejector 2nd stage port', 'Air ejector 1st stage port' and two 'Air ejector steam port'. The ladder up to 2 deck is against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
