The photographer is outside the protective cage in the steering gear compartment between 75 and 80 stations on 3 deck looking to starboard from the port side at 75½ station showing the protective cage of the steering gear on the right. The door to the compartment is in the forward bulkhead with the escape ladder to 2 deck in the left foreground. A steel store cupboard is against the forward bulkhead with an emergency connection box fitted to it. A vertical format negative.
