On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is on the port side of 01 deck at 39 station looking forward showing the air conditioning unit in the foreground with a pyrotechnic locker just ahead of it and a washdeck locker next to the bridge wing. On the right is the RCM equipment room with the ready use rocket flares stowage between it and the support for the Mk. 6M gunnery director. Alongside the director support is a canvas covered communications desk, an R.A.C. helmet locker and a white smoke markers locker. Ahead of the director is the gun direction officer's position at 02 deck level.
