On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is on the starboard side of 1 deck at 46 station looking forward showing the 27 feet motor whaler in its davits with a canvas covered 14 feet sailing dinghy stowed on a cradle on the deck between the davits. On the left is the covered electric boat winch, the boat falls reel, exhaust and supply fans and the Mark 6M gunnery director. The watertight doors to the battery charging room and the forward lobby are open. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.
