On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is on the starboard side of the Mark 6M gunnery director platform looking aft and to port showing the lower parts of the lattice structure of the Type 277Q radar mast and the foremast. The ship's funnel has the Red Hand of Ulster logo on it. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. Visible abaft the Falmouth's mainmast is the tanker Solen (1961) fitting out. In the right background in Hawthorn, Leslie's shipyard on the south side of the river are the tanker Caltex Kenya (1952) and the cargo ship Linkmoor (1961).
