The Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959). In the seamen's mess between 14¾ and 19 stations on 3 deck.
On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the seamen's mess between 14¾ and 19 stations on 3 deck looking forward from 17½ station on the port side of the mess showing a table and bench seat in the centre with a settee bunk, two kit lockers and a refrigerator against the ship's side. The settee is hinged up. On the right are two kit lockers, a greatcoat locker and an electric fire. Against the forward bulkhead are an air conditioning unit and a fire extinguisher. A closed watertight hatch leads down to the No. 2 naval store on 4 deck. This negative is slightly unsharp but negative number N65710 is the same view but sharper.
