On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is on the starboard side of 01 deck at 35 station looking to port and slightly forward showing the lower part of the support tower for the mark 6M gunnery director. On the right is a washdeck locker with a wooden slatted top and next to it are the steps up to the air lookouts and gun direction officer's positions. Ventilation trunking and a 15 inch supply fan casing are ahead of the director support. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.
