On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is at 65 station on 02 deck looking forward and to port showing the lattice mast supporting the type 944 radar aerial. An expansion tank and cordage reels are on the top of the bofors ready use magazine and crew shelter. The MF/DF frame aerial is ahead of the 944 mast, as are the funnel and foremast. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The bow of the bulk carrier Crystal Cube (1955) can be seen on the left heading upriver in ballast.
