On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is at 64 station on 02 deck looking forward showing an expansion tank on the top of the bofors ready use magazine and the MF/DF frame aerial fixed to a bracket at the face of the magazine bulkhead. The emergency conning position, funnel and foremast fill the centre of the photograph. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay and the Royal Fleet Auxiliary oiler Bayleaf (1955) is berthed ahead. A vertical format negative.
