On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the seamen's mess between 68 and 75 stations on 3 deck looking forward and to starboard from the centreline at 74½ station showing three tables with bench seats. A hammock stowage bin is in the starboard aft corner and an electric fire is fixed to it. Another electric fire is fitted to a pillar on the left. Three settee bunks are against the starboard side of the ship and the settees are fitted with raised wooden fronts. Three bread lockers and an emergency cable stowage are also against the ship's side. Various lockers, a hammock stowage bin and two Norris Warming Co Ltd air conditioning units are against the forward bulkhead. Hammock rails are under the deckhead.
