The photographer is in the aft petty officers' mess between 49 and 55¾ stations on the port side of 2 deck looking to port and aft from 53 station showing three double settee berth bunk units, three chairs, a bookshelf, an electric fire and a Thermotank air conditioning unit. The two scuttle covers are open.
