The Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959). In the engine room between 49 and 57 stations on 4 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the engine room between 49 and 57 stations on the lower platform on 4 deck. The photographer is said to be looking aft on the port side but the turn of the ship's hull is on the left of the picture, showing that this has to be the port side looking forward or the starboard side looking aft. A large item of machinery is next to the ship's side and a large diameter pipe fitted with flexible couplings is in the foreground. A ladder leading up to the middle platform is on the right.
