On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the main passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 49 and 61½ stations on 2 deck looking to starboard and aft from 57 station showing a first aid locker on the left with the door to the C.P.Os' mess beyond it. In the lobby are a telephone, emergency connection box, a compressor, dirty clothes lockers, two fuse panels and a starter panel. The watertight hatch leading down to the mechanics' and seamen's mess on 3 deck is open. On the right are a Nu-Swift fire extinguisher and four spare cartirdges, a fire hose basket, a fire main, a telephone, a loudspeaker, power panel and pressure gauge. The door to the sick bay is on the right.
