On board the guided missile destroyer HMS Kent (1961) alongside the Harland & Wolff Ltd fitting out berth in the Musgrave Channel, Belfast. The photographer is in one of the two crew's messes on 3 deck forward looking to starboard and forward showing five tables with chairs around them. Triple tier bunk units are against the starboard side. Greatcoat lockers and three smaller lockers are against the forward bulkhead. A mirror, noticeboard and litter bin are against the port shell hoist and a litter bin and fire extinguisher are against the starboard shell hoist. An automatic emergency lantern is fixed to a support pillar.
