On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the fitting out berth at the West Cowes shipyard of John Samuel White & Co Ltd. The photographer is in the enclosed bridge between 27½ and 31½ stations on 01 deck looking forward and slightly to port from the centreline showing the captain's chair, the pelorus and two engine order transmitter receivers on a raised platform. Against the port side are an asdic type 177 repeater, an asdic type 170B repeater and two other asdic repeater units with a tannoy and a telephone below them. A revolution order receiver and an engine revolution indicator are against the angled bulklhead. To the right of the captain's chair are the speed and distance indicator, the rudder indicator and a telephone. On the right is a cabinet containing the radio and A/S hazards board.
