On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the fitting out berth at the West Cowes shipyard of John Samuel White & Co Ltd. The photographer is on the starboard side of the foredeck looking forward and to port from 10 station showing the twin head steam capstan, the anchor chain cables, blake stoppers, chain pipes, anchor handling platforms, anchor hawse pipes and towing hawse pipe. Awning stanchions are rigged. The ship is berthed port side to the jetty and bethed ahead of her is the cross-channel ferry Caesarea (1960), yard number 2008, fitting out. She was launched 29 January 1960 and completed in November 1960.
