On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the fitting out berth at the West Cowes shipyard of John Samuel White & Co Ltd. The photographer is on 1 deck looking forward, to port and up from 52 station on the starboard side abreast the after deckhouse 40 mm bofors gun showing the emergency conning position, funnel, foremast and Mark 6m director. The ANS cheese aerial on the port side of the foremast is for Type 293Q radar and at the head of the foremast is the HD/DF coil. Ahead of the foremast is the lattice structure supporting the Type 277Q radar aerial.
