The photographer is in the junior rates mess between 57 and 62½ stations on 3 deck looking forward and to starboard from the port side at 61 station showing tables, a bench seat, two rows of kit lockers and a large refrigerator in the middle of the mess. Other lockers, a fire main and four spare fire extinguisher cartridges are against the forward bulkhead. An open watertight hatch is under the stairs leading up to 2 deck. Hammock rails are under the deckhead.
