The photographer is in the junior rates mess between 57 and 62½ stations on 3 deck looking forward and to port from the centre of the mess at 61 station showing tables, bench seats, two double settee bunks, a hammock stowage bin, two suitcase lockers nad two greatcoat lockers. A bread lockers, two loudspeakers and an air circulating fan are against the ship's side. On the right is a flat top fixed to a row of kit lockers. Hammock rails are under the deckhead.
