On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the west wall in the basin at Rosyth Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 7 July 1967 and completed 28 January 1970. The photographer is looking up at the face of the foremast from 38 station on 02 deck showing the forward extension for the ATZ aerial of the type 978 navigational radar. Above the platform and angled 45° to port is the semi-circular ACH aerial outfit. At the top of the foremast is the AKD cheese aerial for the type 993 search radar. The ship is berthed port side to the west wall and the structure in the lower right is the 250 ton cantilever crane built by William Arrol & Co in 1917 and demolished in 1992.
