On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the west wall in the basin at Rosyth Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 7 July 1967 and completed 28 January 1970. The photographer is on the flight deck between 57 and 66½ stations on 1 deck looking forward and to port from 62 station showing the hangar with the roller shutter door half open. The window of the flying control officer is on the port side of the hangar under a floodlight and a telephone is mounted below it. Ropes, cables and pneumatic hoses are spread across the deck. Scaffolding is alongside the port side of the hangar. The guide path indicator is above the hangar. The ship is berthed port side to the wall.
