On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the west wall in the basin at Rosyth Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 7 July 1967 and completed 28 January 1970. The photographer is on the flight deck between 57 and 66½ stations on 1 deck looking aft and to port from 60 station showing the flight deck markings and the ship's identification letters. The Limbo mortar barrels are angled to starboard. A painter's pontoon is alongside the starboard quarter. The ship is berthed port side to the wall and the lower part of the 250 ton cantilever crane is on the right. Berthed astern are the tank cleaning vessel Skomer (1943), seen from off her starboard bow, and the water tank vessel Freshmere (1942) seen from astern.
