The photographer is in the junior rates' mess between 27 and 31 stations on 3 deck looking forward and to starboard from the port side at 30 station showing a table and chairs in the foreground with a triple tier bunk unit on the right. Stairs leading up to 2 deck are close to the forward bulkhead. Kit lockers, boot lockers, a greatcoat locker and magazine flooding valves are against the forward bulkhead.
