The Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958). In an unidentified office/cabin, possibly the regulating office between 54½ and 55¾ stations on the port side of 2 deck.
On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the west wall in the basin at Rosyth Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 7 July 1967 and completed 28 January 1970. The photographer is in an unidentified office/cabin, probably on 2 deck, looking outboard from the door. On the left is a desk on a single pedestal of drawers and it has an Imperial 66 typewriter on it. A cupboard is next to it and on top of the cupboard are a range of ledger racks, cupboards and a wire fronted cupboard. A chief petty officer's cap is on a top shelf. A cupboard is against the ship's side. A wash basin is in the corner on the right, partly hidden by a settee bunk which has piles of papers laid on it. It is possible that this is the regulating office between 54½ and 55¾ stations on the port side of 2 deck but Admiralty plan number 000898918 sheet 2 (NMM plan No. NPD1629) shows a scuttle in the ship's side whereas a cupboard appears in this office.
