On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the west wall in the basin at Rosyth Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 7 July 1967 and completed 28 January 1970. The photographer is in the galley between 41 and 44 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward and to starboard showing the steam ovens and the boiling pans with their lids open. A shelf unit with a large tin of Bisto gravy powder on it is on the right against the ship's side. A drum of frying oil is on the deck and a large ladle is hanging from the deckhead in front of the steaming ovens.
