On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the junior rates' mess between 23 and 27 stations on 3 deck looking aft from 23½ station on the port side showing three triple tier bunk units, a kit locker, two boot lockers, a mirror and two rows of coat hooks. A Thermotank air conditioning unit is against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
