The photographer is in the junior rates' mess between 27 and 31 stations on 3 deck looking to port from 27½ station on the starboard side showing four kit lockers, two boot lockers, a greatcoat locker, a double tier settee/bunk unit and a Thermotank air conditioning unit against the forward bulkhead. Two oil tight scuttles are in the deck. Bunk units are on the left running fore-and-aft and the stairs leading up to 2 deck are beyond. A vertical format negative.
