The photographer is in the junior rates' mess between 57 and 62½ stations on 3 deck looking to port from 58 station near to the centreline showing the backs of kit lockers on the left with a mirror and a row of coat hooks fixed to them. Against the forward bulkhead are a suitcase rack, two kit lockers with boot lockers above, a greatcoat locker with four boot lockers above, and a large locker. An open watertight hatch leading down to the port plummer block compartment is close to the forward bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
