On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the senior rates' sleeping annexe between 62½ and 68 stations on the starboard side of 3 deck looking aft from 63 station showing kit lockers and a triple tier bunk unit against the port side. A double settee/bunk unit and a triple tier bunk unit are against the ship's side on the left. A kit locker, suitcase rack and a Thermotank air conditioning unit are against the aft bulkhead.
