On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the preparing space between 41 and 46¼ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard from 44 station showing the cool room in the starboard aft corner with its control panel against the ship's side. A work surface is over the top of the refrigerating machinery and cereal bins and pies are being made on it. A 50 lb. bag of culinary flour is standing on the deck.
