The photographer is in the preparing space between 41 and 46¼ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft and to port from 45 station showing a work surface over the top of the cool room refrigerating machinery and cereal bins and pies are being made on it. A bag of Tate & Lyle's sugar is on the worktop and a 50 lb. bag of culinary flour is standing on the deck in the left foreground. An Hobart mixing and mincing machine, a first aid cabinet and a work bench with a cupboard and drawer below and a shelf above are against the aft bulkhead. A crewman is in the servery and a set of Salter scales is on the counter.
