On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the hangar between 49 and 57 stations on 1 deck looking forward and to port from 54 station showing two hose stowage brackets, a four drawer filing cabinet, a control gear box, a transformer, a junction box and an high level shelf against the port bulkhead. In the corner are a workbench with a cupboard above it and a shelf rack reaching to the underside of the deckhead. to the right of the missile hoist trunking is a cleaning tank with two taps. On the deck is an air conditioning unit waiting to be fitted in position. A vertical format negative.
