The Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959). In the first lieutenant's cabin between 27½ and 30½ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck.
On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the first lieutenant's cabin between 27½ and 30½ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking aft and to starboard from 28 station showing an armchair, a wardrobe, a desk fitted with two telephones and two microphones, a chair, a shelf, an high level bookcase, a double door cupboard and a Thermotank air conditioning unit. When built this was the commanding officer's cabin and the 1st lieutenant's cabin was aft of it between 30¼ and 31¾ stations. However, the stencilled index in photograph albums ALB1554 to ALB1557, which contain master prints from these negatives, lists this as the 1st lieutenant's cabin (negatives numbers N67105 - N67107) and the former 1st lieutenant's cabin is listed as the marine engineer officer's cabin (see negatives N67244 - N67246).
