The photographer is looking at the canteen between 18½ and 21 stations on the port side of 2 deck. He is at station 20 outside the serving counter looking forward and to port showing a Thermotank air conditioning unit in the corner above a desk. An abridged price list is pinned to the side above the counter. Goods on sale include nougat, Polo peppermints, cheeselets, bags of Smith's Big D nuts, Gillette razors, packets of biscuits, Scripto laundry marker pens, cigarettes and chocolate.
