On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is looking forward from 35 station on the starboard side of 01 deck showing the two inflatable liferafts in their stowage on the outboard side of the bridge wing screen between 31 and 34 stations. An azimuth repeater and a ten inch signalling projector are fitted to the screen. The ship is berthed starboard side to the wall. A vertical format negative.
