On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is looking forward and down from 35 station on the starboard side of 02 deck showing the starboard bridge between 30¼ and 34 stations. An azimuth repeater, a ten inch signalling projector, a marine omnibeam television aerial, three loudspeakers, a telephone and three microphones are fitted to the screen. The watertight door to the enclosed bridge is open and a temporary wooden platform is on the bridge wing deck. The ship is berthed starboard side to the wall. A vertical format negative.
