On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the torpedo stowage compartment between 51¾ and 54¼ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking aft and to starboard from 52 station showing torpedo stowage cradles and a locker for fitted depth charge pistols and unfitted primers against the starboard bulkhead. Against the aft bulkhead are fittings for stowing steadying lines, a wheel spanner, a fire extinguisher and a ramp plate. The door to the compartment is on the right.
