On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the senior rates' mess between 56½ and 61½ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft from 58 station showing kit lockers on the right and an electric fire and a Thermotank air conditioning unit against the aft bulkhead. A double bunk unit is on the left and in the left foreground are the backs of two kit lockers with a mirror fixed to them. A vertical format negative.
