On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the senior rates' mess between 61½ and 67 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft from 62 station on the starboard side of the mess showing four triple tier bunk units. An electric fire and a Thermotank air conditioning unit are against the aft bulkhead at 65 station. In the bulkhead is the access hatch to the fan chamber. A vertical format negative.
