On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the communications control (receiving) room (CCR(RX)) between 25 and 28 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking forward from 28 station showing a workbench with drawers under, a Thermotank air conditioning unit, a power unit and an aerial cabinet against the ship's side. A starter unit, a fire extinguisher, a signal generator and an automatic emergency lantern are against the forward bulkhead. A bank of CJA receiver units is against the starboard bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
