On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is looking forward, to port and down from the port aft corner of the air look-out position at 34 station on 02 deck showing the bridge wing between 30½ and 34 stations on 01 deck. An azimuth repeater, a ten inch signal projector and various microphones, speakers and telephones are against the bridge screen. A wooden step is on the deck. A small amount of snow is in evidence. A vertical format negative.
