On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the Hull Outfit 20 (Type 177 sonar) directing gear compartment between 15½ and 19 stations on 4 deck looking aft and to starboard from 17½ station showing the dome raise/lower motor and the two Laurence Scott & Electromotors control panels for the motor. Lifting ropes and pulley blocks are on top of one of the control panels. A vertical format negative.
