On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the sonar instrument compartment between 12½ and 16 stations on 3 deck looking to port from 13½ station showing racks of sonar control cabinets on either side of a narrow passage. An electric fire and a fire extinguisher are mounted on the port side. A vertical format negative.
