On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the combined technical library and planned maintenance office between 16½ and 19 stations on the port side of 3 deck looking aft from 18½ station showing desks, job card racks and a Thermotank air conditioning unit against the ship's side. A cupboard/ledger shelf and a notice board are against the aft bulkhead. A double door cupboard is against the starboard bulkhead.
