On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the diesel generator compartment between 6 and 11½ stations on 2 deck looking aft from 8 station on the port side showing the heat exchanger and lubricating oiler cooler against the ship's side. The port Paxman 300kW diesel generator and Brush motor are on the left. An air receiver and a nest of drawers are against the aft bulkhead.
