On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the diesel generator compartment between 6 and 11½ stations on 2 deck looking to starboard from near the centreline at 11 station showing a large locker against the ship's side with a ventilation fan above it and aroll of wire mesh alongside it. A starter panel, an emergency connection box, two guages and an automatic emergency lantern are against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
