On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the main passageway (known as the Burma Road) between 11½ and 16 stations on 2 deck looking aft and to starboard from 12 station showing the open watertight hatch leading down to 3 deck and the vertical steel access ladder to the small arms store above the senior rate's bathroom. Two sets of emergency cable stowage are against the bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
