On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the main passageway (known as the Burma Road) between 11½ and 16 stations on 2 deck looking forward and to starboard from 15½ station showing a changeover switch with a starter panel above it on the right with the door to the senior rates' bathroom near the end of the passageway. On the left are a two-speed fan starter panel, an exhaust fan starter panel, a diesel generator exhaust fan changeover switch box, two drums of fire-fighting foam liquid and a fire hose basket.
