On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the operations room between 31¼ and 35½ stations on 1 deck looking aft and to port from just to starboard of the centreline at 34 station showing the electronic warfare control position. There are two desks, each equipped with a morse key and an interphone switchboard unit. Illuminated screens are above and to the side of the desks and a visual display unit is on the right.
